RHDV2

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and fatal calicivirus. This deadly virus affects both pet and wild rabbits. RHDV kills quickly, giving little warning.

Any sudden death, especially in an otherwise healthy rabbit, is suspicious and should be reported to your veterinarian as a possible case of RHD.

A safe and effective RHDV2 vaccine is available. Currently only one vet in the Memphis area, Dr. Ralph Pope, administers the vaccine. Every 3 to 4 months we arrange a vaccine clinic with him.

Email us if you want your rabbit(s) vaccinated. Spots are limited.

🐰 The clinics are always on Saturdays.
🐰 The vaccine is two doses (shots), given 21 days apart.
🐰 Your rabbit(s) must receive both shots for the vaccine to be effective.
🐰 The cost is $50 per shot ($100 total) per rabbit.
🐰 Dr. Pope pays his staff overtime to stay late for the clinics. To expedite the process you must pre-pay.
🐰 Complete your forms ahead of time, see below.
